Air Commodore Alan Deere was a New Zealand fighter ace serving with the Royal Air Force. He flew Spitfires in the the Battle of France and the Battle of Britain. In 1943 he commanded the famous Biggin Hill fighter wing on numerous sweeps and escorts over occupied Europe.
He is credited with the destruction of 17 enemy aircraft.
